Shapes (Die cutting)
Most labels we print are cut with basic shapes such as rectangles, squares, ovals, circles and triangles, but we are not limited to just that! Almost any custom shape is possible and it doesn't stop there! Perforation, butt-cutting, top & bottom cutting and multi-level cutting are possible too.

Stock
We carry a large range of various stock. The most popular stock used is the Gloss white paper. It is very versatile and is one of the cheapest to print on.

Stock types are as follows:

Gloss paper A gloss coated white paper stock capable of withstanding some moisture and freezing conditions. (Various manufacturers).
New Age paper A semi-gloss/matt stock
Matt paper A matt paper stock. (Various manufacturers).
PP Film A plastic film which is tear proof and weather resistant. Available in opaque white and clear.
Thermal A matt stock that turns black with the application of heat. Used with Direct Thermal printers.
Fluoro A fluoro tinted matt stock available in blue, red, yellow, green, orange and pink.
Metallic A metal coated stock available in gold and silver, in both dull and bright.
There are also a large number of specialty stocks available. All stocks can be flood coated with a colour of choice.

e.g. A bronze stock is created from the metallic gold stock being coated with red/brown ink.

Colours
All colours we print are either a CMYK (Cyan, Magenta, Yellow & Black) composite or a colour from the Pantone matching system.

CMYK or process printing is generally used for printing of more than four colours. A photo or scenery is a good example.

Printing with Pantone colours is generally used for solid line work such as text and objects. We have the latest Pantone booklets for Solid Coated, Solid Uncoated, Pastels and Metallics.

Foiling
Our Hikari press has the option for Hot Foil Stamping. This works in a similar way to Thermal Transfer printing. A heated magnesium alloy plate transfers the desired shape onto the stock through a foil ribbon creating a mirror like effect with the bright foils or a dull metallic look with the dull foils. A range of specialty foils are also available.

We use KURZ foils, a world leading manufacturer.

Embossing
Our Hikari press also has the option for Embossing. Almost any shape or design can be embossed in one of two methods.

The first and easiest is Blind embossing. This is exactly the same as foiling only without the foil ribbon and will leave and imprint or deboss of the shape or design in the stock. This works best with thick stocks.

The other uses a 'Male' plate with the shape or design and squashes the stock into its 'Female' counterpart to create a lifted emboss that stands out from the stock.

Budget Labels
Budget labels are perfect for the person who wants small, simple labels for a budget price.

These single colour labels are perfect for applications such as a senders address on an envelope, covering up old information, product labelling, the options are endless!

Various label sizes and stocks are available as well as coloured and specialty ribbons. Please contact us to discuss options.

Thermal Transfer Printers
Thermal Transfer Printers are a great way of producing your own custom labels to suit your needs. They work with a Windows based PC using a thermal head to transfer an image onto blank or pre-printed paper or vinyl labels through a thermal ribbon.

These printers also work with thermal papers, burning the image directly onto the paper eliminating the need for a ribbon.

Operating speeds are quite fast ranging from 25mm per second to 175mm per second.

These printers are very handy for people requiring small quantities of simple repetitive labels such as nutritional panels, barcodes, envelope labels.....etc.

We are a distributor for Toshiba TEC, Datamax and Zebra Thermal Transfer Printers and accessories. Please contact us for a quote.

Applicators
Label applicators will help you to apply a large quantity of labels to a variety of objects. They are fast, accurate and efficient and will increase productivity and profits.

Label applicators come with a range of options, from hand-held guns for labelling fruit to fully automatic applicators for labelling wine bottles.

We mainly deal with Great Engineering and Dix. Please contact us for a quote.

Stamps
Rubber stamps are great for people who need to repeatedly mark documents or objects with specific text or a logo. They are cost effective and come as a conventional or self-inking stamp.

Specialty stamps are also available such as stamps with variable information (Date stamps) Company and Common seals..... etc.

These stamps are available in a variety of sizes and ink pads are available in a few different colours.

Please contact us for a quote.

Design
We offer an in-house design service at a very modest price. Whether it be a wine label, stamp or you would just like some help with software, Anton and Julian will be glad to sit down and listen.

We use Adobe CS2 and prefer any files native to it such as eps, pdf.... but if you are stuck with a low quality jpg (or any other format), most of the time we are able to reconstruct it into a high resolution file ready for print. Feel free to Email the file through to us for assessment.
